Share Reddit posts as images
Protego lets you share a Reddit post or comment as an image, with the comments above it, and the theme and width you pick.
A screenshot of a Reddit thread includes vote counts, avatars, half of the next comment, and your status bar. An image from Protego shows only the post or comment you picked, on a card that reads well in a group chat or on a slide. The person you send it to needs no link and no Reddit account to read it.
Share a post or comment from the Protego menu
The Protego menu on a post has Share post as image, and the menu on a comment has Share comment as image. Either one opens Protego with a preview. Both are on new and old Reddit. A share from a feed includes only the text the feed shows, so share from the post’s own page to include all of it.
Choose what the image shows
Switches on the Share as image screen set what the image includes, such as the community, the post text, and the post’s picture. Show post author starts off, so a shared post leaves out who posted it unless you turn it on. Turn off Show usernames to leave commenters’ names out of a comment image. No image includes votes, timestamps, or avatars.
Add the comments above a reply
A reply often makes sense only next to the comment above it. Use Parent comments to add the comments above the one you are sharing, one at a time, up to eight. Turn off Show post details to leave the post off the image.
Pick a theme and a width
Theme has light and dark cards, in plain colors or on the Protego app’s background. Width sets how wide the image is. A wider image shows a long comment as a shorter block of text. Protego keeps both choices for your next share.
Send the image anywhere
Tap Share to send the image to Messages, AirDrop, or any other app, or to save it to Photos. Protego makes the image on your device. Every image has the Protego for Reddit name and shield.
